A client we have worked for on several occasions over the years came to us and asked us to revamp the area surrounding his swimming pool. They had already commissioned a new pool house and entertaining garden room complete with kitchen, showers and built-in BBQ area.
The pool is located at the top of the garden to maximise the sun and we seperated it off from the main lawn area using a laurel hedge. A path then linked back to the house. As a family of six with lots of friends, the space was to be designed to accomadate them on a daily basis but also allow for entertaining when friends and family came over.
We chose the lovely light warm colours of Golden Fossil Sandstone to compliment the country setting and lift the surround to the pool making you feel as if you could be in the south of France! A cedar hot tub was partially sunk into a cedar deck and space wascreated for loungers. The planting is a mix of colourful perennials and evergreen structured shrubs. It was important it had lots of late season colour as the pool will be used most throughtout July, August and September.
