Situated in a small hamlet we first met the clients of this project in the autumn of 2016. Working alongside the architect who is extensively re-modelling the renovated barn our brief was to create a large modern country garden that took advantage the raised location and views over the open countryside.
The work is to be phased over several years but will in total encompass a large walled kitchen garden as the client is a chef. There will be an intimate patio space hugged by the proposed timber clad extension to the property. There is to be a swimming pool and mirrored timber clad pool/gym room. Behind this room is to be a wildflower meadow designed to blend the garden to the landscape beyond. The meadow is separated from the main lawn by a ha-ha which acts as threshold between the two spaces. Finally a long gravel promenade will cut down the garden tying the all the elements together, this will be richely planted with a mixture of mature shrubs and vibrant perennials.
