This lovely Victorian villa had been completely revamped by a busy client who had little time to garden but wanted to create something fresh and clean to compliment the work they had done inside the house. The stunning glass extension provided a great link to the garden both on lovely hot summer days or cool autumn ones - a place to sit privately and enjoy the green oasis within the suburbs.
Surrounding the bottom of the house was a large limestone patio - the use of a sawn edged stone with a split face balanced the modern clean look with an understanding of the age of the building. The multi-stemmed Amelanchier tree act as both a focal from the glass room and also break up the patio. Large steps link the patio to a large rectangular lawn surrounded by existing mature trees and shrubs. The cedar screen provides a clean fresh back drop to the predominately evergreen planting with a mixture of structured Buxus and infomal rosemary and perennials.
