Some initial consultations you remember really well. On a crisp Saturday morning in March during The Six Nations, we sat in the orangery with the sun streaming through and frost on the lawn outside. It was decided that a masterplan for the garden would be put in place which included reshaping the drive to the front of the house and separating it from the main garden. The main garden which was a field would then be designed to maintain views across the fields and incorporate a garden room at the bottom. The existing pond was doubled in size and the large curved drystone wall was placed to frame one side of the curved lawn whilst giving privacy from next door. Lots of herbaceous planting flowed down from the house end to the garden room.
Back at the house, an exisiting seating area was repaved in Vintage Limestone, planted with lavender and covered with a large black arch which in time will be covered with climbing white roses. Adjacent to this area was the walled garden which got the morning sun and was viewed from the kitchen. A parterre and infinity edge water trough were installed with a seating area to have morning coffee. The final, and most recently completed part, was a new kitchen garden, large greenhouse and orchard.
