The Barn

This project has been realised over the course of two years. After completing the initial Master Plan back in 2022 the first phase of works was the creation of a rear courtyard. This included new reclaimed brick walls and a feature fireplace with informal gravel seating area. The planting in this part of the garden was more shade tolerant and the whole space set with the back drop of the mature black walnut tree. The second phase was the creation of the wildflower meadow and the larger terraces to the south side of the barn. Beautiful tumbled limestone combined with brick pavers created spaces that connected back to the new living spaces within the house. The final phase was a gravel garden and driveway space to the front of the house. We created an intimate garden area outside the front door and moving the cars away from the windows of the house. Somewhere to take a coffee and watch the birds drink from the corten water bowl.
