THE DESIGN PROCESS EXPLAINED
A breakdown of our individual services
Every design starts with an initial meeting usually over a cup of tea. Our aim during the meeting is not only to see your garden but to get to know you as a client and how you use your garden. Knowing who is going to use the space, and how, is the key to a successful design. This meeting also gives us the opporunity to show you our portfolio and talk you through our design (and build) work in more detail.
A full and detailed review of the site and its surroundings. To include boundary dimensions, buildings and the plotting of other structures/vegetation that are existing on site. Levels, aspect and orientation of the site are also analysed along with soil type. Topographical and arboricultural surveys, if required, are organised and charged accordingly. Both services are carried out by external companies.
The creation of a concept plan for site, complete with elevations and perspective views. This is the first time you as a client will have seen our thoughts and plans for your garden. It takes into account your requirements as set out during the initial meeting. This will include: the presentation of material samples as appropriate, initial construction estimates, hard landscape proposals and planting suggestions which include flowering months and colours for ease of understanding.
Larger and commercial sites may require a more detailed version of the garden design plan as described above.
We do offer the option to have full detailed planting plans produced to locate every plant onto the plan. This shows cluster densities and size when mature to give an indication of how the planting beds will be made up and how they will look in the future.
