The Old Mill

A converted Mill set on the banks of a brook where the client was looking for a natural landscape with gravel garden to compliment the house and its wider setting. Large weathered limestone borders were used to help punctuate the abstract grid of pathways that created the immediate garden space outside the back of the house. Gabions were used to deal with some levels and anthracite coated arches positioned to frame views. Meadow banks swept out into the paddock and down the bank to the stream with an oak jetty for sitting or fishing.
