A project that we first got involved with back in 2022. The site was located within the village but has views out across the open countryside to the east. One of the major challenges and opportunities faced was the levels across the site, which meant creating a series of terraces. The hand crafted Clipsham Stone walling is second to none and forms the most beautiful back drop to the garden spaces. To the front of the house the layout is more traditional to compliment the house facade. Resin gravel driveways, yorkstone paving, topiary and lawns form the main components. A private cobbled courtyard is created for daily use by the family. Whereas in the back the feel is more modern, a long water channel runs down from the internal hallway creating a fabulous visual as you move around the internal spaces of the house. It also frames the edge of the lower limestone terraces and separates the formal lawn. The planting is tiered across the terraces and combines structure with multi-stem trees to create a pool area and summerhouse. Large steps draw you up and out into the paddock beyond.
